About me

Well, I am Anurag, the publisher of this website. I am starting this initiative to motivate myself and others. Throughout my personal and professional journey, I have been deeply passionate about data and analytics, and I have always been a keen writer on LinkedIn and Medium. Whenever I got time, I got my hands dirty writing about some thoughts or projects. I thought about publishing the blogs on my website so I can be more proactive in publishing content as well as helping the community through their data journey, if at all I can. Through this platform, I will also be writing about my personal journey and what I learnt through it every step of the way. Professionally, I have worked across various domains including data analytics, reporting, business intelligence, data strategy and strategy consulting.

Well, my journey began in New Delhi, India wherein I was born in a working class family. Starting my life in a small family, I have been brought up with the belief of fighting hard to achieve anything in life. Even early in my school days, I knew that I wanted to do engineering post my schooling. The term hard to achieve become a dream, without chasing and without introspecting. I don't specifically remember how my dream shaped up but it was driven by the thought process of learning by a mechanism, a mechanism of fighting. So, after my schooling, I went for Electrical engineering from the Delhi College of Engineering. The promises that a comfortable life is ahead of me post getting out of a good college still seems like a hoax. Haha! I am sure many of you can relate.

My first full-time professional stint was at Wipro Technologies in their Artificial Intelligence team. I made really good and really smart friends there. I realized how life can be different away from home as I had travelled to another state for the first time in my life. It was an amazing experience overall.

Post a short stint at my first job, I moved to the world of consulting when I joined ZS Associates New Delhi office in the analytics team. Well, this was my stint where my thought process, growth and learning actually shaped up. I worked on data analytics, business intelligence, reporting and operations and advanced analytics problems over a course of 3.5 years. I made some mentors and friends who I will remember till the end of my journey.

I moved to the UK in 2022 to pursue my masters in Analytics from Warwick Business School. Well, disruption was my best friend here as I left a really good job in my country to achieve something different in life in the world of analytics. Well, to summarize my experience, I can say that it was filled with highly steep learning curve, super different lifestyle, a lot of new exploration which I had never envisioned and some things that I will take forever. It was not easy at all, but it was magical... magical when I look back and connect the dots. It is here when I realized the magical experiences are not all amazing, they are filled with hardships, struggles and uncertainties which, if curated optimistically, then comes bearing with gifts.

"When you think of it like it had happened, you would realized that it had actually happened before"

I never planned for it, but I actually re-joined ZS Associates back in their London office. Maybe, I had too good of an experience in the New Delhi office! So, in this role, I do a lot of different things from data strategy, to data analytics, strategy consulting, business development and much more. I have worked on a broad range of data and analytics case studies, which are not only unstructured but also quite immersive. This stint has actually taught me more than I had realized at any given moment. From being in uncertain situations, to tackling multiple projects and workstreams and making the best out of any given situation at the time. Overall, this role has played its part in making me a better data professional and a better person.

Currently, I live in London. I love to explore different parts of this beautiful place as I am sure that I haven't even seen the half of it. I love to read and write too, and that is probably the reason I wanted to start my website to help the community through my experiences and journey, especially in the world of data and analytics. If you wish to get in touch with me, please do reach out to me. Here is my LinkedIn profile It would be my pleasure to help you out in any way that I can!!

Well, I will end my introduction with a quote I really love. By the way, I wrote this quote myself...

"First you were something.. then you were nothing..

and then you rose from the ashes.. and became everything..."

plus a picture of a beautiful scene beside the accommodation that I used to stay at during my masters:
